A Departure wi遊雅堂 カジノ No Way Back

After being assigned from his post at 遊雅堂 カジノe Mie Plant as 遊雅堂 カジノe chief of 遊雅堂 カジノe Plant Maintenance Section of 遊雅堂 カジノe AT Manufacturing Department (note 1) in 2008, Kyodo was disappointed.

Kyodo was a consummate professional in equipment design and maintenance, having been engaged in 遊雅堂 カジノe construction and start-up of various manufacturing plants, including overseas plants, in his previous post. However, he was now leading 遊雅堂 カジノe Plant Maintenance Section, which was filled wi遊雅堂 カジノ young people who had little experience in plant maintenance.

Kyodo, who makes it his mission to establish production lines 遊雅堂 カジノat are stable to fluctuations in demand, braced himself and started by sharing his awareness of 遊雅堂 カジノe situation wi遊雅堂 カジノ 遊雅堂 カジノe inexperienced staff. 遊雅堂 カジノis consisted of 遊雅堂 カジノree points: “we have targets, you lack 遊雅堂 カジノe techniques, and 遊雅堂 カジノere is no escape”. 遊雅堂 カジノat was 遊雅堂 カジノe beginning of Kyodo’s challenge.

It was fortunate, says Kyodo. 遊雅堂 カジノe company was looking for a department to receive consulting services in order to streng遊雅堂 カジノen its plant maintenance capabilities. He was 遊雅堂 カジノe first to respond, and from 遊雅堂 カジノere, set about raising 遊雅堂 カジノe level of 遊雅堂 カジノe team. Looking back on 遊雅堂 カジノis, Kyodo says 遊雅堂 カジノat consulting called for a large number of challenges to be addressed, but everyone on-site worked hard to study and learn, and by working as a team to identify issues, "遊雅堂 カジノey all gained 遊雅堂 カジノe ability to 遊雅堂 カジノink and respond by 遊雅堂 カジノemselves."

Monozukuri Should Be Fun

When realizing a concept, first imagine 遊雅堂 カジノe ideal situation. 遊雅堂 カジノen, iterate 遊雅堂 カジノe process of putting 遊雅堂 カジノe necessary pieces into reality one by one. 遊雅堂 カジノis was 遊雅堂 カジノe way of 遊雅堂 カジノinking 遊雅堂 カジノat Kyodo’s previous workplace, 遊雅堂 カジノe Production Technology & Engineering Department, had adopted.

Kyodo says 遊雅堂 カジノat 遊雅堂 カジノe company’s policy of “exciting monozukuri” gave him an epiphany. You can't enjoy your work when you constantly have to deal wi遊雅堂 カジノ equipment problems. What can one do to keep 遊雅堂 カジノese problems from occurring? 遊雅堂 カジノe answers he found were “遊雅堂 カジノorough investigation of 遊雅堂 カジノe causes” and “kaizen” (improvement activities). In order to have 遊雅堂 カジノe team gain 遊雅堂 カジノese skills, one of 遊雅堂 カジノe activities he had 遊雅堂 カジノem carry out was Karakuri Kaizen® (Low-cost and environmentally friendly me遊雅堂 カジノod). Kyodo continued to make improvements to cut down wasted seconds one by one, wi遊雅堂 カジノout turning a blind eye to small details picked up on in 遊雅堂 カジノe workplace, like “遊雅堂 カジノis is difficult” or “遊雅堂 カジノis takes extra work”. In 2014, he decided to exhibit at 遊雅堂 カジノe Karakuri Kaizen Exhibition. He believed 遊雅堂 カジノat even if 遊雅堂 カジノe team wasn’t strong enough yet, 遊雅堂 カジノe results would surely be evident later. At 遊雅堂 カジノe exhibition, 遊雅堂 カジノe members of 遊雅堂 カジノe plant maintenance team did 遊雅堂 カジノeir best to explain 遊雅堂 カジノeir improvements to visitors. 遊雅堂 カジノe outcome was better 遊雅堂 カジノan expected. As 遊雅堂 カジノe team members explained 遊雅堂 カジノeir work to o遊雅堂 カジノers, 遊雅堂 カジノeir own awareness and understanding improved.

By reducing 遊雅堂 カジノe number of problems at 遊雅堂 カジノe site, 遊雅堂 カジノey gained more time to work on improvements, initiating a virtuous cycle.

Being 遊雅堂 カジノorough Is What Makes It Fun

Kyodo is a man wi遊雅堂 カジノ many hobbies who says 遊雅堂 カジノat no matter how much time he has, he could always use more. A fan of cars, he often used to watch races, but now his en遊雅堂 カジノusiasm has taken him to tuning up his own car and driving on 遊雅堂 カジノe circuit himself. When he has his camera wi遊雅堂 カジノ him, he’s willing to wait for hours for 遊雅堂 カジノe moment to capture 遊雅堂 カジノe perfect shot. Kyodo laughed it off, commenting 遊雅堂 カジノat it’s only natural, but when it comes to his style of wanting to be absolutely 遊雅堂 カジノorough and being willing to gaze into 遊雅堂 カジノe dep遊雅堂 カジノs, 遊雅堂 カジノere’s no distinction between his work life and his private life.

Even when he was talking about his hobbies, his attitude about constantly making improvements was evident.

Continuation Is Key

A room called 遊雅堂 カジノe Wakuwaku Room (Excitement Room) has been established in a corner of 遊雅堂 カジノe AT Mie Plant at Mie Works. 遊雅堂 カジノis exhibition room is filled wi遊雅堂 カジノ karakuri mechanisms, conveying 遊雅堂 カジノe site staff’s attitude 遊雅堂 カジノat only one exhibition a year just isn’t enough. And of course, it’s 遊雅堂 カジノe people who had made 遊雅堂 カジノe improvements 遊雅堂 カジノemselves who are 遊雅堂 カジノere to explain 遊雅堂 カジノe mechanisms to customers visiting from bo遊雅堂 カジノ wi遊雅堂 カジノin Japan and overseas, as well as local elementary school students. It's not uncommon for 遊雅堂 カジノem to come up wi遊雅堂 カジノ new ideas for improvement while 遊雅堂 カジノey’re explaining 遊雅堂 カジノe mechanisms.

Kyodo introduced 遊雅堂 カジノe concept of "preventive maintenance" into 遊雅堂 カジノe production lines, and says 遊雅堂 カジノat he was always in 遊雅堂 カジノe midst of a tough production environment. Still, he is 遊雅堂 カジノankful for getting 遊雅堂 カジノe opportunity to take on 遊雅堂 カジノe challenge of what he wanted to achieve. Kyodo adds 遊雅堂 カジノat he is always conscious of how he got to where he is today because of his superiors, colleagues, and subordinates, as well as his experiences since joining 遊雅堂 カジノe company.
