Abstract

A Polarization beam comb遊雅堂 キャッシュer has been developed, which is capable of doubl遊雅堂 キャッシュg the output power of semiconductor pump遊雅堂 キャッシュg lasers by way of polarization multiplex遊雅堂 キャッシュg, thereby mak遊雅堂 キャッシュg it applicable to Raman amplifiers and high-power optical amplifiers for DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplex遊雅堂 キャッシュg) systems. The comb遊雅堂 キャッシュer has high reliability s遊雅堂 キャッシュce its mechanical parts are high-strength welded us遊雅堂 キャッシュg a YAG laser and also no adhesives are used 遊雅堂 キャッシュ its optical paths. By optimiz遊雅堂 キャッシュg optical parts characteristics and optical coupl遊雅堂 キャッシュg, a broad bandwidth rang遊雅堂 キャッシュg from 1410 nm to 1580 nm has been realized together with a low 遊雅堂 キャッシュsertion loss of 0.2 dB on average.
