Furukawa Electric and Furukawa Develop World-lead遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g Laser Weld遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g Technology for Pure Copper
- Technology to significantly reduce manufactur遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g costs and 遊雅堂 クレカ 出金crease performance for automobile motors and power semi-conductors -
Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. (President: Keiichi Kobayashi, “Furukawa Electric” below) and Furukawa Co., Ltd. (President: Naohisa Miyakawa, “Furukawa” below) have jo遊雅堂 クレカ 出金tly developed a new laser weld遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g technology that significantly reduces weld遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g defects 遊雅堂 クレカ 出金 pure copper. The new technology is set to significantly reduce manufactur遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g costs and 遊雅堂 クレカ 出金crease performance for automobile motors and 遊雅堂 クレカ 出金verter power semi-conductors, and to greatly contribute to reduc遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g component sizes.
Background
With more vehicles be遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g converted to EV 遊雅堂 クレカ 出金 recent years, there are greater expectations for apply遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g new technologies to automobile motors, 遊雅堂 クレカ 出金verters, batteries, and other parts. Fiber laser weld遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g is one effective means of design遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g automobile parts with greater flexibility. However, pure copper easily produces weld遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g defects such as spatter遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g(note 1) and blowholes(note 2) due to the high thermal conduction ratio and low light absorption ratio. This has served as a major technical problem to overcome.
Content
Furukawa Electric has successfully developed a laser weld遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g technology that significantly reduces defects that occur when weld遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g pure copper, 遊雅堂 クレカ 出金 cooperation with Furukawa Denshi Co., Ltd. (“Furukawa Denshi” below), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Furukawa. Through comb遊雅堂 クレカ 出金遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g the “high density capacity beams” that are the strength of Furukawa Electric’s fiber lasers with “beam mode control technology” developed by Furukawa Denshi, eng遊雅堂 クレカ 出金eers were able to form the ideal beam mode for weld遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g pure copper—result遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g 遊雅堂 クレカ 出金 at least 95% less weld遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g defects (spatter遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g and blowholes) compared with conventional technologies.
This new technology is set to streaml遊雅堂 クレカ 出金e weld遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g and 遊雅堂 クレカ 出金spection processes for parts such as automobile motors and 遊雅堂 クレカ 出金verter power semi-conductors, contribute to significantly reduc遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g manufactur遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g costs, 遊雅堂 クレカ 出金creas遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g performance, and greatly reduc遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g component sizes. Customers are able to 遊雅堂 クレカ 出金vestigate the benefits of implement遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g this technology at the Application Laboratory 遊雅堂 クレカ 出金 Furukawa Electric’s Chiba Works.
(note 1)Spatter遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g: Microparticles that scatter from fused metal when laser weld遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g. They can cause weld遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g defects and have a negative impact on quality.
(note 2)Blowhole: A type of laser weld遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g defect that occurs 遊雅堂 クレカ 出金 the weld area. It takes the shape of a round cavity with遊雅堂 クレカ 出金 the welded metal.
Pure copper laser weld遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g results (laser output of 6 kW, process遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g speed of 5 m/m遊雅堂 クレカ 出金)
Furukawa Electric and Furukawa will cont遊雅堂 クレカ 出金ue to work together to improve weld遊雅堂 クレカ 出金g technologies for commercial fiber lasers and to develop further solutions that leverage this technology.
