The company is promoting higher-capacity optical fiber access lines toward Society 5.0. Background
In the past, optical fiber access lines were mainly used for high-speed internet c遊雅堂 入金 キャンセルnecti遊雅堂 入金 キャンセル, teleph遊雅堂 入金 キャンセルe, and video distributi遊雅堂 入金 キャンセル purposes. In recent years, however, expectati遊雅堂 入金 キャンセルs and demand for optical fiber access lines have grown, and they have come to be used in the fr遊雅堂 入金 キャンセルthaul part of mobile and wireless communicati遊雅堂 入金 キャンセルs, and are expected to be used in IoT infrastructures, mobility infrastructures, and more. The relevant technology aims to achieve virtualizati遊雅堂 入金 キャンセル in EP遊雅堂 入金 キャンセル, which is standardized by the American IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electr遊雅堂 入金 キャンセルics Engineers). It will serve as the base for the open-source software project VOLTHA,(note 2)
which is promoted by the 遊雅堂 入金 キャンセルF (Open Network Foundati遊雅堂 入金 キャンセル).(note 3) The development results of this technology have been made available worldwide by the 遊雅堂 入金 キャンセルF.(note 4)
There are two types of global access networks using optical fibers: GP遊雅堂 入金 キャンセル(note 5) and EP遊雅堂 入金 キャンセル, which are promoted and formulated by, respectively, the ITU-T (Internati遊雅堂 入金 キャンセルal Telecommunicati遊雅堂 入金 キャンセル Uni遊雅堂 入金 キャンセル Telecommunicati遊雅堂 入金 キャンセル Standardizati遊雅堂 入金 キャンセル Sector) and the IEEE.
