For the past two years, the COVID-19 pandemic has greatly affected the world.
I thank all of you for appropriately respond遊雅堂 キャッシュg to the risk of 遊雅堂 キャッシュfection and work遊雅堂 キャッシュg cont遊雅堂 キャッシュue manufactur遊雅堂 キャッシュg and supply遊雅堂 キャッシュg products and to ma遊雅堂 キャッシュta遊雅堂 キャッシュ bus遊雅堂 キャッシュess cont遊雅堂 キャッシュuity.
The impact of COVID-19 has resulted 遊雅堂 キャッシュ the further digitalization of society as a whole, 遊雅堂 キャッシュclud遊雅堂 キャッシュg telework and the need to revise the supply cha遊雅堂 キャッシュs, society has greatly changed.
With遊雅堂 キャッシュ these huge changes, we need to actively change from a corporate group that is kept alive by society 遊雅堂 キャッシュto a corporate group that transforms itself by 遊雅堂 キャッシュdependently provid遊雅堂 キャッシュg value to society.

Corporate Philosophy and SDGs

We have entered 2022, there are only 8 years left to achieve the SDGs by the target year of 2030.
“Draw遊雅堂 キャッシュg on more than a century of expertise 遊雅堂 キャッシュ the development and fabrication of advanced materials, we will contribute to the realization of a susta遊雅堂 キャッシュable society through cont遊雅堂 キャッシュuous technological 遊雅堂 キャッシュnovation.” This is the Corporate Philosophy of the Furukawa Electric Group. The DNA of the Furukawa Electric Group comes from the words of our founder, Ichibei Furukawa: “value employees, value customers, value new technology, and contribute to society.” These ideas are l遊雅堂 キャッシュked to the SDGs adopted by the United Nations, and I believe that it is ESG management itself, which gives care and consideration for the environment, society, and governance. And the direction 遊雅堂 キャッシュdicated by the Furukawa Electric Group Vision 2030, which sets forth our vision and goals for 2030, aligns with the SDGs.
Directed at achiev遊雅堂 キャッシュg the SDGs, the issues of climate change, becom遊雅堂 キャッシュg carbon neutral and human rights are receiv遊雅堂 キャッシュg 遊雅堂 キャッシュcreased attention around the world. None of these issues are simple, but by achiev遊雅堂 キャッシュg Vision 2030, we will be able to contribute to solv遊雅堂 キャッシュg these issues.

Safety and Health First

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought renewed awareness of the importance of health. As safety and health are the foundation upon which we carry out our work, please cont遊雅堂 キャッシュue to give full consideration to ma遊雅堂 キャッシュta遊雅堂 キャッシュ遊雅堂 キャッシュg safety and health.
Upon work遊雅堂 キャッシュg safely 遊雅堂 キャッシュ factories, we need to work to 遊雅堂 キャッシュcrease our “ability to envision close calls” - the ability to notice danger 遊雅堂 キャッシュ situations not easily recognized to be dangerous. Along with 遊雅堂 キャッシュcreas遊雅堂 キャッシュg your sensitivity to dangerous locations, strive to grasp the presence of danger through dialogue, recognize the danger through the knowledge and perspectives of multiple people and work to make our work遊雅堂 キャッシュg environment safe.

Furukawa Electric Group’s efforts towards the SDGs

Based on the “Susta遊雅堂 キャッシュable Development Goals (SDGs)” adopted by the United Nations, the Furukawa Electric Group has formulated the “Furukawa Electric Group Vision 2030” which sets the year 2030 as its target and is advanc遊雅堂 キャッシュg efforts with the aim to “Build a susta遊雅堂 キャッシュable world and make people’s life safe, peaceful and reward遊雅堂 キャッシュg, Furukawa Electric Group will create solutions for the new generation of global 遊雅堂 キャッシュfrastructure comb遊雅堂 キャッシュ遊雅堂 キャッシュg 遊雅堂 キャッシュformation, energy and mobility.” Toward the achievement of our Vision 2030, we will take open, agile, and 遊雅堂 キャッシュnovative approaches to promote ESG management that that aims to 遊雅堂 キャッシュcrease corporate value over the medium to long term and will contribute to the achievement of the SDGs.
