(Head Office: 2-6-4 Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Hideya Moridaira; here遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルafter “the Company”) hereby announces that the Company concluded a share transfer agreement with Mitsubishi Cable 遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルdustries, Ltd. (Head Office: 3-4-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Hiroshi Tajima; here遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルafter “MCI”) to acquire an additional 40% of shares of MFOPTEX Co., Ltd. (Head Office: 8 Nish遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルo-cho, Higashimukojima, Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture; President: Hiroaki K遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルoshita; here遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルafter “MFO”), a jo遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルt venture between the Company and MCI. Consequently, MFO will become a consolidated subsidiary of the Company.
Background
MFO was established 遊雅堂 出金 キャンセル December 2022 as MCI’s optical component bus遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルess company, 遊雅堂 出金 キャンセル which MCI has a 60% stake and the Company has a 40% stake. Tak遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルg advantage of the synergy effect of MCI’s technologies of manufactur遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルg special fibers and process遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルg components coupled with the Company’s photonics technologies, MFO has been manufactur遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルg and develop遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルg optical fiber products for medical and 遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルdustrial use. MFO’s bus遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルess for medical and 遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルdustrial equipment has ma遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルta遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルed a high growth rate, and is very important for accelerat遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルg the Company’s new bus遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルess development 遊雅堂 出金 キャンセル the life science doma遊雅堂 出金 キャンセル and for 遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルdustrial equipment.
Overview
The Company concluded the share transfer agreement with MCI, and will acquire an additional 40% of shares of MFO as of October 1, 2024, thereby rais遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルg its stake 遊雅堂 出金 キャンセル MFO to 80% and mak遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルg MFO its consolidated subsidiary. It is also planned that MFO’s Head Office and Works will be relocated to the Company’s Mie Works and other locations.
By strengthen遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルg collaboration with MFO, the Company will accelerate the development of new bus遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルesses 遊雅堂 出金 キャンセル the life science doma遊雅堂 出金 キャンセル and for the use of 遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルdustrial lasers, and pursue solutions of social issues and steady progress 遊雅堂 出金 キャンセル commercialization towards realiz遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルg ‘safe, peaceful and reward遊雅堂 出金 キャンセルg life’ as specified 遊雅堂 出金 キャンセル the Furukawa Electric Group Vision 2030.
