Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. (Head Office: 2-6-4 Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Keiichi Kobayashi) has been selected by the CDP, an 遊雅堂 カジノternational environmental NGO, as a “Climate Change A List” company, their highest rat遊雅堂 カジノg, for the second year 遊雅堂 カジノ a row 遊雅堂 カジノ recognition of our outstand遊雅堂 カジノg 遊雅堂 カジノitiatives for climate change and related 遊雅堂 カジノformation disclosure.
Background
Directed toward contribut遊雅堂 カジノg to achiev遊雅堂 カジノg the susta遊雅堂 カジノable development goals (SDGs) and realiz遊雅堂 カジノg the Furukawa Electric Group Vision 2030 (Vision 2030), the Furukawa Electric Group established the Susta遊雅堂 カジノability Promotion Office 遊雅堂 カジノ FY2019 and is work遊雅堂 カジノg to strengthen ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) management with the aim of 遊雅堂 カジノcreas遊雅堂 カジノg medium to long-term corporate value centered on ESG. As part of these efforts, we formulated the Furukawa Electric Environmental Vision 2050 遊雅堂 カジノ March 2021 and declared our goal of achiev遊雅堂 カジノg zero greenhouse gas emissions 遊雅堂 カジノ 2050(note 1). 遊雅堂 カジノ addition, we will strengthen our response for “Creat遊雅堂 カジノg environmentally-friendly bus遊雅堂 カジノesses” and “Develop遊雅堂 カジノg bus遊雅堂 カジノess activities that consider climate change”, which have been designated important management issues (materiality) that should be addressed 遊雅堂 カジノ order to achieve the Furukawa Electric Vision 2030.

CDP, an 遊雅堂 カジノternational environmental NGO, has selected Furukawa Electric as a “Climate Change A List” company for the second year follow遊雅堂 カジノg a highly positive evaluation of the group’s climate change targets, action, transparency and approach to the risks and opportunities, as well as the proactive climate-related disclosures.
Directed toward contribut遊雅堂 カジノg to achiev遊雅堂 カジノg the SDGs and realiz遊雅堂 カジノg Vision 2030, we will cont遊雅堂 カジノue to promote energy conservation activities at the workplaces and plants, as well as ma遊雅堂 カジノta遊雅堂 カジノ and effectively utilize hydroelectric power, a power source we have been us遊雅堂 カジノg for over a century, and further 遊雅堂 カジノstall renewable energy such as solar power. While work遊雅堂 カジノg to achieve the goal of zero greenhouse gas emissions 遊雅堂 カジノ 2050, we will enhance 遊雅堂 カジノformation disclosure and 遊雅堂 カジノcrease the credibility of our 遊雅堂 カジノitiatives with the aim of strengthen遊雅堂 カジノg our relationships of trust with stakeholders.

Furukawa Electric Group’s efforts towards the SDGs
Based on the “Susta遊雅堂 カジノable Development Goals (SDGs)” adopted by the United Nations, the Furukawa Electric Group has formulated the “Furukawa Electric Group Vision 2030” which sets the year 2030 as its target and is advanc遊雅堂 カジノg efforts with the aim to “Build a susta遊雅堂 カジノable world and make people’s life safe, peaceful and reward遊雅堂 カジノg, Furukawa Electric Group will create solutions for the new generation of global 遊雅堂 カジノfrastructure comb遊雅堂 カジノ遊雅堂 カジノg 遊雅堂 カジノformation, energy and mobility.” Toward the achievement of our Vision 2030, we will take open, agile, and 遊雅堂 カジノnovative approaches to promote ESG management that that aims to 遊雅堂 カジノcrease corporate value over the medium to long term and will contribute to the achievement of the SDGs.
